Interior Minister Taulant Balla says that none of the African immigrants who will be brought to Albania will stay here longer than the agreement with Italy provides.
Balla said that the secretly agreed agreement between Edi Rama and Giorgia Meloni, does not solve Italy's problems, which has 3,000 immigrant centers and will bring only 1 to Albania, but it is rather a gesture of solidarity.
"The irresponsibility of people who take it upon themselves to speak in front of microphones without knowing anything, makes it difficult to clarify. If you ask any Albanian citizen today about the special relationship between Albania and Italy, we are very grateful to Italy for the care, support, let's not forget March and July when the Albanian citizens took the ships and left for Italy.
This is about if Italy faces a very big challenge of migratory flows, and today there are over 3,000 reception centers in Italy, and one of these 3,000 should be located in Albania. To process the asylum application process, none of them will stay in Albania. The construction and maintenance of the center is the responsibility of the Italian government.
So I want this issue to be very clear to everyone. Some of these great professors have started saying it goes against international law. It must be handled carefully, it will also pass in the Assembly. Therefore please, I think it will be very clear, Albania has always been next to Italy, as Italy has been dozens of times alongside Albania. Albania is giving an example of solidarity", declared Balla.
