A month after burning the promise he made before last year's elections, Ahmetaj again came out to talk about the reconstruction process. This time, Vice. The Prime Minister did not give concrete deadlines, but spoke of 'process in conclusion'.
The Deputy Prime Minister said this Wednesday that the process was towards completion, while delays were billed to factors not dependent on the Government.
"Reconstruction is ending everywhere, except in the Combinati area and 5 May in Tirana where there are delays for trial causes", he said.
Yes, it is true that reconstruction in the Combine and the 5 May area has been hampered because of the resistance of some residents, who have accused of collapsing their dwellings without receiving the reward they are entitled to.
But the great truth of the whole reconstruction process is quite different. The beach area in Durres is among the hardest hit in the country. In the Durres Beach area are several buildings badly damaged by the earthquake that pressures their collapse and reconstruction.
Ahmetaj did not talk about these buildings, nor about the fact that several other buildings in Shijak, Kumanovo and other areas of Durres have not yet been completely closed and residents have not entered.
Somewhere the shipyards are open, as the deputy prime minister says 'at the end of the job', but the entire Beach area in Durres brings down ahmetaj's alibi of delays because of the courts.
This is one side, not to stop at length all reconstruction, which has received millions of euros from the budget and in the form of donations, for which transparency and accounting is almost zero.
