The leader of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, is holding a meeting today with the candidates for deputies of the Elbasan district. The main objective is the strategy and messages for the electoral campaign of May 11, for the parliamentary elections.

Prime Minister Edi Rama, in his speech, placed emphasis on Albania's integration into the EU. 

"The volume of work done is greater than ever in all these 35 years. Beyond the fact that we will have direct messages for all interest groups, for all ages. The most important moment of these elections is beyond all of this, because these elections coincide with an extraordinary historical moment, where for the first time the possibility of Albania's entry into the EU is not only real, but actual. It has not been actual until now, it has been real. A window has been opened that will not remain open for a long time," said Rama. 

Rama says that for the first time, European luck is smiling on Albania.

"First, Serbia started negotiations in 2014, today we are 2025. Serbia is behind us. Montenegro started negotiations in 2012. Today we have reached Montenegro and we are side by side, the plan is for us and Montenegro to join the EU and for the EU to give a clear signal that it is expanding. Today we have European luck smiling at us for the first time. For the first time we have a geopolitical vote and Macedonia became a candidate to join the EU in 2005, today it has not yet opened negotiations. We opened negotiations years ago and we can close them in 2027, which is a dizzying speed."

The head of the political group for the region, Arbian Mazniku, among other things, in his opening speech before the SP representatives, presented the names, experience of the candidates, professions and even said that "the average age is 4 years younger than that of the Albanian National Team".

Among the candidates who stand out, besides Maznik, are former minister Evis Kushi, currently an MP, Bora Muzhaqi, and former member of the Vetting Committee, Olsi Komici.

In the last two days, the head of government has also visited the regions of Fier and Berat, where he inspected several construction sites and investments in road construction and infrastructure.
