The May 11 elections revealed a previously unseen phenomenon: small parties competing with closed lists filled with household names. 

Adriatik Lapaj of the "Albania Initiative" coalition caused a debate online after he included his father in the closed list for the Berat district, but it is learned that Enkelejd Alibeaj, representative of the "Right for Development" Coalition, has also nominated his family members in the closed list for Tirana.

His two daughters, Gea, 25, and Meg, 19, and his mother Valentina are on the closed list of the Tirana district. 

In a reaction, Alibeaj admits that he has agreed with the open list candidates to include family members in the security, saying that 'the bad law forces you to make a strategy.' He further adds that they will resign.

Shqiptarja.com published the list of candidates a day ago, where the name of the eldest daughter of the leader of the 'Right 1912' party, Gea Alibeaj, was placed 5th on the list.

The second daughter, Meg Alibeaj, is 11th, while Valentina Hamza Alibeaj, 74, the mother of the party chairman, is ranked 7th. Alibeaj himself is ranked first on the open list.
