At the Third Diaspora Summit, the Prime Minister of the country, Edi Rama, also delivered his speech. He started with the special symbolism of the number 111, referring to the anniversary of Albania's Independence, and emphasizing that this meeting comes at a historical moment.
"Very dear friends, and guests ladies and gentlemen! 111, they say is a unique number of its kind, superstitions and legends say that 3 1's together symbolize the transforming power of decision, for others 111 is the number of angels or the number of perfection of the universe and regardless of the context , when the 3 1's come together in the calendar or dreams, the former advise meditation and focus on positive emotions, because they thought that these numbers that appear before people are a signal of a historical moment that has come, for individual or collective life. With this good omen, I have the great pleasure to say to all of you, and especially to the President of Kosovo, the high representatives of the Albanians in RMV, in Montenegro, in the municipality of Presheva, welcome everyone to Tirana, at the third Diaspora summit, at the dawn of the 111th anniversary of Albania's Independence."
This 2-day summit, for the head of the government, is an opportunity for all Albanians together to write a new page, with cooperation and common objectives.
"And beyond the symbolism, this 2-day meeting also comes with the full awareness that in the work of the summit, which takes place intensively outside these large plenary sessions, we have been entrusted with the opportunity to communicate together to write another new page for Albanians. The summit is a crossroads where everyone unites, regardless of beliefs or political affiliations, beyond all provincial affiliations and everyone's location, as Albanians who have something to say, to give about how we will approach the challenges of the world we live in, which affects the countries where we are and at the same time how to better join forces to succeed in the realization of legitimate ambitions and objectives. I definitely cannot leave it without mentioning that this summit happens a few days after the 1st teams of Kosovo, RMV together in one team not only took Albania to Europe in the full sense of the word but showed us again what we can do when we combine talents and strengths."
"We have a purposeful strategy to win. Together, no objective is unattainable, no dream is impossible if we are determined to achieve it", Rama addressed all Albanians.
Listing the successes of Albanians in the world, he also told the story of a simple immigrant, which conveys a meaningful message.
"And if there is a great lesson that we can all learn at all levels, from all those names that make us proud as Albanians, because they are mentioned with great admiration and respect in a world much bigger than ours, they all had a dream much bigger than their possibilities could advise. Mira Murati, Dua Lipa, Mira Mezini, Altin Kadareja, Rita Ora, Ermonela Jaha, Lorik Cana, Igli Tare and so on, are names that have different paths and have reached different peaks of the world, port together they have the power to go all the way to their dream. These are the ones we know, but how many are the unknown! If there is a lesson from all the success of the Albanians in the diaspora, from all the individual successes, it is that "no dream, no matter how big, when people see it with open eyes, is unattainable as long as they see it, but how many people are willing to aim for it to achieve and pay all the costs of that effort, to get up from all the falls in that climb, to resist the fatigues, that makes the difference.
While I was thinking about what I was going to say here, I remembered the real story of a boy who was a minor when he fled from a deep area in Greece, crossed the border illegally and worked as a fruit picker and saved every penny he got, as much as he slept. in the tree. In the tree of the fields where he worked. And why did he spare them? That he also had a dream, when he had gone there for the first time, he had bathed in warm water in the tub and had a dream to buy it and take it to the village and bathe his father. And he told me how he managed to collect the money, buy the bathtub and pay for the transport, make the whole journey with the goods near the bathtub so that he was sure that he would reach the destination, then take another truck and when he put the bathtub in home, the whole family was waiting for him, they saw that strange shape and thought the boy was crazy, installed it, threw away the soaps and put the father in the bathtub. He told me I didn't want him to die without trying to bathe like a human! How many are these stories and how much has the life changed today for all those who in the 90s left and faced the stamp on their foreheads as unwanted people, but the lesson of all is how much we can do when we are really ready to follow it the dream and understand that if our countries where we have state-making power, have not reached where they should have been today for a long, long time, it has to do with our abilities."
