For the first time in history, since the creation of the first Albanian state, Tirana can be led by a woman.
What is known as 1/3 of Albania, the largest municipality in the country, will have as its candidate Ogerta Manastirliu from the Socialist Party, who, if elected, will return to the municipality where she has worked since the time when Edi Rama was mayor.
While within 7 days, the Council must pave the way for elections, the ball has crossed the blue goal, where Sali Berisha and his supporters must choose the potential candidate.
Sali Berisha said that Ilir Alimehmeti is a possible candidate but said that the name will be announced after consultations.
But who are the most likely names for Tirana and will the DP dare with a woman?
Sources from the blue camp told ZĖRI that the interest of Democratic women in running for mayor is high.
Since the opponents dared to use a woman, voices close to Berisha for a bold choice have increased.
Thus, Jorida Tabaku and Adriana Kalaja seem to be the two most ambitious women to compete against Manastirliu, while Ilir Alimehmeti, if he competes, will continue the process where he left off in 2023, when he passed the baton to Belind Këlliçi, who lost to Veliaj.
What will Berisha and his people decide? We have to wait a little longer…/ ZERI
