Rama to Athens, speaks to the Greek media: I respect Mitsotakis as a friend
Edi Rama and Kiriakos Mitsotakis

Before the start of the meeting with Albanian immigrants in Athens, Prime Minister Edi Rama gave an interview to the Greek newspaper "Kathimerini", where he expressed his appreciation for Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

"Kyriakos is the Prime Minister of Greece, he is a friend I respect a lot. The Greek Prime Minister, more than any of his predecessors, with whom I have worked, is really interested in strengthening Greek-Albanian relations", said Rama.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that his speech before the Albanian immigrants in Athens did not include anything about the case of Fredi Beleri.

"For the first time since Albania declared its independence from the Ottoman Empire, we want to make justice independent of political power", the Prime Minister emphasized to "Kathimerini".

Although it is a private visit with the Albanian diaspora and does not include any meeting with Greek officials, Rama will be accompanied by numerous Greek police forces. According to the Athens media, there will be around 1000 police forces that will accompany the Albanian Prime Minister during the entire visit, from the arrival at the airport, the escort and security at the "Galatsi" stadium where the meeting will be held.
