Prime Minister Edi Rama's visit to Athens for Sunday's meeting with immigrants, apart from strong controversies in the ranks of Greek politics as it happens on the one-year anniversary of Fredi Beleri's arrest, has forced the authorities in the Greek capital to take strong security measures.
According to the Greek media, the security measures will be draconian, while an armored BMW type vehicle will be placed at Rama's disposal to make his visit as safe as possible.
According to the information, Rama will arrive in Greece on Sunday morning and will go directly to the closed Galatsi stadium, where the "Christmas Theater" hall has been selected by the organizers for the gathering.
The police are waiting for the final schedule to come up with a comprehensive plan for security measures.
However, ELAS sources told Newsbomb.gr that official police officers will be available for any possible incident or episode, while the traffic police will manage traffic.
A dog will check the area of the Galatsi stadium before the start of the match, while until its conclusion there will be security people in uniform around.
The representative of the government, Pavlos Marinakis, speaking for SKAI, emphasized that this is a "private visit" and that the government will guarantee that all security measures are in place.
"Our job is not to interpret the appropriateness of Edi Rama's visit, our job is to show respect for the rule of law with our actions. Greece is not afraid, if there is any reason we will respond", asserted the representative of the Greek government.
