Prime Minister Edi Rama inaugurated today the new hospital built at QSUT for internal diseases. During his speech, Rama announced that the government is preparing a special program for young specialist doctors. For those who appear as a couple, Rama says that they will support them by getting a house under completely different conditions from those on the market.
In addition to motivation with salary increases, Rama said that he must meet the conditions at this time when there is a large movement of doctors and nurses towards European countries.
"We hardly have this moment because it is the biggest hospital we have been waiting for in years. Make them happy and feel motivated to come to work every day. I don't want to dwell on the investments or the further extension of the QSUT, which the minister touched on a little, but I want to dwell a little on the doctors, nurses, respected professors who have been serving for years, and I am very glad that, even though it is late, we will prepare for another significant increase in their salary. We believe that this is also insufficient, so we will publish a special program for doctors, soldiers, and police officers, to guarantee housing for young specialist doctors, of course, when they appear in pairs.
For all young couples of specialist doctors to be subjects of this program where the state, the government will support them to get a house in conditions other than those of the market.
We will give motivation to young doctors, but we believe that beyond motivation, this is an obligation that the state will undertake in the conditions when meeting the needs with medical and health services is an objective that we will achieve, but also a challenge as a result of the migratory movements of doctors and nurses. Those who have moved and gone forward have created a very good reputation", said Rama.
The Prime Minister says that working in the public hospital will justify the expenses and doctors will no longer need to work in the public sector. From the premises of the new hospital for internal diseases at QSUT, he said that doctors will be paid overtime.
"Working in the public hospital will be an opportunity to do professional work but to be rewarded beyond the salary. In this way, the story of bribes will end because we know very well that the common expression every time a doctor comes before 'hey, they'll let you die if you don't put your hand in your pocket' is not true and disgusting. We know that the health reality is different and the service is given and received under the maximum conditions for everyone without conditioning the provision of the service. We know that even among the white shirts there are scumbags and unworthy ones. There is no reason for anyone to be underpaid because the doctor will get what he deserves because he will work extra", said Rama.
