Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected today the site of the new Port of Vlora, together with Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.

Rama emphasized that it is important for Vlora to have a tourist port of the best Mediterranean standards.

"It is important that Vlora has a tourist port of the best standards in the Mediterranean. It starts a construction site of exceptional importance for many reasons. For a port that finally deserves this name, whether it is the one we have there, or this of fishermen are medieval water parks and secondly because here the entire fishing fleet is organized while with the support program for the fishing industry we will continue to finance both the repair of ships and the purchase of new ships. Thirdly because we will increases the flow of trade through the sea, fourthly, something with standards will be done for passengers. At the same time, we have a tourist port on the other side that will be one of the pearls of the Mediterranean and will bring great economic development not only for Vlora but for the entire industry as well." Rama said.

Rama also stopped at energy, where he said that not only is the price high, but the possible volume to buy has also decreased. He said that it will be very difficult for us to find him.

However, Rama is optimistic that the moment will come when Albania will no longer need imports as it will be an exporter of electricity itself.

I was also in Athens where I met with the Crown Prince and the agreement was made to bring the interconnection from Saudi Arabia to Greece and to sell to Greece and this area the solar energy that they plan to produce in staggering quantities. We are in positive conditions. What matters is that the moment will come when we will no longer need to import but to export,"Rama said.
