The former head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, in the next meeting with the citizens, stopped in Kamëz, where the DP lost its stronghold in the May 14 elections.

During his speech, Basha focused on the local elections of May 14, saying that the youth spoke clearly by not participating in these elections, as according to him they are neglected.

"Citizens, youth must become part of political decision-making. We need to see what steps we need to take to change the talk of boycott. On May 14, the absence of young people stood out. We are in an open wound for a long time, the pain is made even worse by the dance that our political opponent throws. Our cause is national, and before we point the finger at the election manipulations and the tails of this government, we must also direct it from ourselves", said Basha.

Basha stated that the old policy is playing its own game and that it is not committed to serving the citizens, but aims only at power.

Asked about the accusations of the former prime minister Sali Berisha, Basha said that they are worried about his exit and his main demands for political vetting, open lists and the limitation of the prime minister's mandate.

"He is not the only one worried about the exit, but many others. They have monopolized the public debate and want only the three of them and their puppets to come out. I have only been talking about all the problems for a few days, and the point is that the decision-making should pass to the citizens. They want a monopoly on politics, the media, the economy, and they want Albania to remain of those three, as it has been for over 30 years. But on May 14, the majority turned their backs on the trio, and this worried them, now we must give a voice to the majority of Albanians.

This is my commitment and this is why I came out to talk to the citizens, about the open lists because you decide, the political vetting was burned because they want to insult without going further, without opening letters. Let's open the papers and show the wealth of every politician, let's start with me and not with those three. Let's start with me and my family circle and theirs and see if they justify or not. This is the vetting of politicians. They want this because they want to slander and hit anyone who disturbs, or someone else who does not share their agenda comes in. But I repeat to you: Are the open lists for political vetting, for limiting the prime minister's mandate, yes or no? As for the old Avaz, they are trying to divert attention from the responsibility for the loss of May 14 with the attacks on me", said Basha.
