Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted after the statement of the EU's chief diplomat, Josep Borrell, who said that extraordinary elections should be held in municipalities with a Serbian majority in the north of Kosovo .
Through a post on Twitter, Rama said that the EU could not be clearer than that and added that deploying the police to protect empty buildings where elected officials cannot enter is absurd.
"The EU could not be more clear! Continuing this absurd misplan by deploying police to protect empty buildings that elected officials cannot enter, and in turn deploying army troops to sing at another country's border could not be more self-inflicted and less European", wrote Rama.
"I very much hope that our brotherly Kosovo and friendly Serbia will resolve this conflict before the EU implements strong measures against them. They must act quickly and understand that fulfilling the EU's requirements means returning to themselves as responsible European states", added Rama.
