Prime Minister Edi Rama today presented the Socialist Party's electoral program for the May 11 elections, also unveiling a passport model that, according to him, will be used by Albanians after membership in the European Union.
"This is the face of the Albanian European passport," Rama said, emphasizing that the new design contains the security elements of EU standards.
He noted that, although Albanian citizens today travel visa-free, they still face additional controls at European borders.
"When we go to the EU, that policeman asks us how much money you have with you, do you have any hotel reservations, how long you will stay and when you will leave," said Rama, underlining that with membership, Albanians will have the same rights as any EU citizen.

This statement comes as part of the Socialist Party's vision for " Albania 2030 ", placing EU membership as a key objective of the government for the next mandate.
