Veliaj's promise to Tirana: We will asphalt 300 thousand square meters of
Erion Veliaj

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, presented his 4-point plan for the capital during today's meeting of the Municipal Council.

Veliaj said that the plan will be based on urbanization, the fund for Agriculture, the housing bonus and the project for nurseries/gardens within the institutions. During his speech, Veliaj stated that around 300,000 m2 of main and secondary streets and squares of residential blocks will be intervened.

"We have had complaints from all of you rightly about the investments in the community. And today we can say yes. We have to propose 300 thousand m2 of asphalt for main, secondary roads and squares of residential blocks from unit 1 to unit 11 and from neighborhood 12 to neighborhood 14. So, for all urban areas of Tirana.

Of course, the city has been all a construction site, some cases of private works, mostly of public works. Today we have collected all the pennies of the unrealized projects and we have proposed to use this fund and reallocate for our public works directorate, this giant asphalting project, which is practically 300 km2 systematization and urbanization of all the blocks of Tirana.

So, if we have your agreement we will collect all the unspent funds of the year now that we are in the last half and take them to this project that requires less design work and more field work." - said Veliaj.

According to the mayor of Tirana, this intervention will consist of the improvement of asphalt layers, pavement layers, partial repairs of the package of road layers where they appear most damaged, horizontal signage, as well as completion of vertical signage in those parts where it is missing .

4 point plan:

– Urbanization and asphalting project
– AZHBRS fund for agriculture
– Housing bonus
– A symbolic pilot project with a second-level bank that has created for the first time a nursery within the institution.
