The European People's Party (EPP) has published a video from the proceedings of the Assembly of the International Democratic Union (CDI), held in Sao Paolo, Brazil, where it participates as a member organization.

In her statement, MEP and EPP Secretary General Dolors Montserrat presented the four main joint conclusions of the proceedings.

One of the four main points presented by the EPP was specifically related to Albania.

Montserrat emphasized that the country's European integration process must remain conditional on respecting democratic standards and guaranteeing institutional independence.

The statement states:

"We insist that Albania's membership in the European Union be conditioned on stopping the democratic slide and the capture of the media and justice, carried out by a leadership linked to drug trafficking, organized crime and money laundering."
