"Petro Koçi is not known as a man of science", PD accuses Rama:
Ina Zhupa

The Democratic Party claims that Prime Minister Edi Rama will give Skender Gjinushi a second term at the head of the Academy of Sciences, with the proposal to change the law that allows him to be re-elected.

Through a statement to the media from the blue seat, MP Ina Zhupa stated that Prime Minister Edi Rama does not stop even though Gjunush's current mandate is in the Constitutional Court and his election to the head of the Academy has not yet been decreed by the President of the Republic as illegal.

Among other things, she mentioned the positions of the two academics Artan Fuga and Apollon Baçe and according to her, the two socialist MPs Petro Koçi and Ismet Beqiraj who have proposed changing the law, are not known as people of higher education and science, nor are they related with the academic world.

"The Democratic Party calls on the people of science, culture and art to raise their voice of indignation and protest against the infiltration of methodologies that are neither science nor politics, by the "intellectuals of the rope and rope" that Edi Rama holds close and prefers in the Academy ." Zhupa said further.

STATEMENT OF THE DEPUTY OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, INA ZHUPA

Edi Rama, contrary to the law, wants to give another mandate to Skënder Gjinushi as president of the Academy of Sciences.

Although his current mandate is in the Constitutional Court and is awaiting review; even though his election at the head of the Academy was not decreed by the President of the Republic to be illegal; even though it has been publicly denounced as a bargain involving the sale of Gjinushi's former party for Rama's political interests, the Prime Minister still does not stop.

The reaction, both from the Democratic Party and academics Artan Fuga and Apollon Baçe, has been strong and will continue.

Academician Baçe has raised two questions in the annual analysis of the Academy of Sciences regarding the request to change the law, proposed by two socialist MPs and allowing the re-election of Gjinushi at the head of the institution:

Kjo për faktin se as z. Petro Koçi dhe as z. Ismet Beqiraj nuk njihen si njerëz të arsimit dhe shkencës së lartë, dhe as kanë lidhje me botën akademike.

Turning the Academy of Sciences into an annex of Rama-Gjinushi's political appetites is an insult to academics, the Assembly and the public in general.

The Democratic Party calls on the people of science, culture and art to raise their voice of indignation and protest against the infiltration of methodologies that are neither science nor politics, from the "intellectuals of the rope and rope" that Edi Rama holds close and prefers to the Academy.

We join the voices of academics Artan Fuga and Apollon Bace with our political and social support, and we ask others to join together to prevent further degeneration of the Academy of Sciences.

Using the words of Mr. We cannot allow a second McGonigal even in the Academy of Sciences of Albania.
