The head of the Municipality of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that Tirana today is many times cleaner than when the Municipality was run by the Meta-Berisha coalition. Speaking in Neas 24 about the incinerators, he said that it was precisely the former ministers and former LSI officials who managed this entire process.
"In all the polls they are below 2%, disappearing, and of course as is typically the case, the smaller you get, the more violent and vulgar you become. So, I really regret the trouble. They say the same things just with a different logo. How is it possible that until 2019, the LSI and the lady in question, along with her husband the president, did not have any problems with the incinerator? Because it was the officials of their party who managed this work and had that sector. They will tell me, only after they break up with each other, they are ready to burn the whole of Albania. It means that Ms. Kryemadhi, Mr. Meta, Saliu, Luli, etc., enjoyed the contracts they had before," he said.
Veliaj underlined that today Tirana is cleaned much cheaper than when Lulzim Basha was in charge of the Municipality. "They managed the Municipality of Tirana in 2015 and their proposal was for 37 euros per ton, today it is 28, Durrës has 29 because there is also the distance part. Today Tirana pays less than other cities, but one thing is certain, Tirana today pays 1/3 less than the coalition Meta - Berisha - Basha - Kryemadhi in the Municipality of Tirana. I remind you that Basha was the mayor, Sali Berisha was the prime minister, Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi had Tit Vasili and Jorida Tabaku here as vice-mayors and their contract and their proposal was 1/3 more", said the head of the Municipality.
Krebashkiak Veliaj also stopped in the case of former FBI official Charles McGonigal. Considering it much ado about nothing, Veliaj said that the Albanian opposition is frustrated, while he brought up the case of Damir Fazlliç, who during the Berisha government was seated in the Security Council.
"Much ado about nothing, making a storm in the glass, why do people meet, I'm sure that the big difference is that, unlike Damir Fazllic, who the government took and put him in the Security Council, these are people who end their courtesy visits and continue in their work. And that's why the opposition is so frustrated because it's a thing that's not going up. People today are worried if there will be another aid package, like the one at the end of the year for economic assistance, for disability, for pensioners and for those who have difficult professions, since the crisis, although it has softened, has not it's over. These are concrete issues. But it becomes a national issue who the prime minister met, as I am sure that in his career he has met thousands of people,
