DP writes to CEC, requests audit of diaspora vote in Greece and Italy: Send
The Presidency of the Democratic Party

The Democratic Party has once again addressed the CEC regarding the problems identified with the diaspora vote, mainly in Greece. Through a letter listing the problems that have been noted until May 6, the Democrats are demanding an audit, arguing that the integrity of this electoral process is at risk.

The DP says that the most serious violations were recorded in Greece, where the majority of immigrants live, but serious problems have also been verified in Italy, Germany, the USA, the UK and other EU countries. The letter mentions violations that, according to the DP, range from a lack of procedural transparency, to political pressure, unofficial distribution of ballots, violation of the secrecy of the vote, etc.

According to the DP, the violations found are irregular delivery of envelopes, two ballots in one envelope, lack of instructions for voters, political pressure and vote buying, delay or failure to deliver envelopes, and illegal collection of votes.

The DP demands an immediate international audit of the logistics of transport and delivery of envelopes from Albania to Greece and vice versa, and also demands a review for the invalidity of any vote submitted with an unsealed or incomplete envelope, as well as a criminal investigation by SPAK for vote buying and the involvement of the SP in the distribution of votes.
