The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has issued a warning to those he calls "criminals and electoral thugs" in the city of Durrës, where the DP campaign concluded in a large rally.

"Wherever they are, we will catch them, with Sako, with Gjushi, with their candidates," declared Berisha, saying that they "will not find a mouse hole to enter."

Excerpt from Berisha's statement:

Friends, these elections divide citizens, patriots, divide those who love Durrës, divide people with dignity, divide virtuous people from those who are commanded by gangs and crime and believe they can impose their will on Durrës.

Here I am declaring it to you, they will not find a mouse hole.

Wherever they are, we will catch them, with Sako, with Gjushi, with their candidates.

There is no place for them in parliament.

There is a place for them in the dustbin of history.

Dear Ermira, the pride of Durrës, the pride of Albania and the pride of the nation.

The story you told here, your achievements are an inspiration for every Albanian, they are an inspiration for every young man and woman, proof of what they can do with their will, with their iron character, with their courage, young men and women can conquer the Everests of all fields, in sports, in science and everywhere else.
