The Democratic Party leadership meeting has begun, where changes to the Statute are expected to be approved. In his opening speech, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, after congratulating Albanians on the holiday of Kurban Bayram, said that the National Assembly will sanction the bases for the true transformation of the DP.

"The Democratic Party will be the party of the section, while renewal means new memberships," Berisha emphasized at the leadership meeting. In his speech, he said that there are thousands of democrats who want to join the party, while priority will be given to territorial organization and the engagement of grassroots structures.

"The DP, at the organizational level, will be the party of the section. We are a party of the territory, therefore we are a party of the section. And, absolute priority in its pyramid is given to the foundation, which is the section. Renewal means new memberships. It means the elimination of every barrier that prevents new memberships. It means opening the doors at the section level and at all levels for new arrivals, new commitments. I guarantee you that there are thousands and thousands of democrats who are ready to join and take responsibility, but who are not offered this opportunity. They are not offered this environment."

He appealed to the democrats to put aside inertia and apathy and to efficiently utilize all potential.

"I have emphasized and I emphasize, the disease of oppositionism is inertia, it is apathy. And this disease makes us indifferent to this process that is vital for the DP. The DP today more than ever needs efficiency. The efficiency of each of its leaders, of its members. It needs indicators to measure this efficiency so that its potentials can be utilized to the maximum extent. The DP needs to utilize every potential that digitalization and artificial wisdom offer so that we can multiply our power, our capabilities. Its program or its vision is absolutely the best that exists. But we have the great fortune and the special privilege to consult, examine and re-examine the program of this party with the best that exist today in Europe and the USA."
