The Democratic Party has announced that it will appeal the election of the Ombudsman to the Constitutional Court.

Parliament voted on Thursday evening for Endri Shabani as People's Advocate, who received 85 votes in favor from deputies of the Socialist Party and the Social Democratic Party and three against.

The Democratic Party and the Opportunity Party did not participate in the vote.

The opposition strongly opposed the procedure followed, stating that it had withdrawn the supporting signatures for the candidacies for Ombudsman and that Endri Shabani was not a candidate supported by the DP.
