Mayor Erion Veliaj has removed lawyer Artan Gjermeni from his defense after the GJKKO rejected the latter's request not to remain in Veliaj's cage during court hearings.

After the lawyer's departure, the court assigned Erion Veliaj as his primary lawyer, Valentina Teodorescu, the defense that was also assigned to Berisha.

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has requested the revocation of the interim decision of the First Instance Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO), which has rejected several requests made by his defense during the trial.

Veliaj says the court's decision violated his constitutional and legal rights to a fair trial, stressing that he was not fully and effectively informed about the charges against him.

He is demanding the removal of the measure of being placed in a cage, which he believes is humiliating and prejudicial treatment.

Making available all the acts of the file in a readable and accessible form, to enable him to prepare his defense.

As well as postponing the procedure until these basic rights are fully ensured.
