Star Manjani/ Lefter Koka

After four years in prison, since December 14, 2021, former Minister of Environment Lefter Koka is now free.

A decision by GJKKO judge, Bib Ndreca, has removed Lefter Koka's last obstacle to freedom, the security measure for the Fier incinerator.

For this file, former Minister Koka has been in prison since March 29, 2022, and for the GJKKO, the 3-year pre-trial detention period allowed by the Code has already passed and further trial must continue at liberty.

Lawyer Ylli Manjani has reacted to this decision, writing that Lefter Koka was kept in prison to please the crowds, and people like "cannon fodder" were sentenced for the incinerators.

Manjani adds that Lefter Koka's freedom was taken away unjustly, he was imprisoned at the request/accusation of the party to which he contributed for years.

Ylli Manjani's reaction:

Yesterday I experienced a moment of joy.

Lefter Koka, a good friend, after an absurd legal ordeal gained his well-deserved freedom. He was held in detention beyond any legal deadline, only with the excuse that SPAK led by Dumani cannot accept failure!!!

Perhaps it was no coincidence that the court "braved up" to enforce the written law yesterday....

However, I wish them a friendly greeting:

May Lefteri enjoy his freedom!

In my opinion, he was deprived of his freedom unjustly. He was imprisoned at the request/report of the party to which he contributed for years. He was not investigated, but was tried on the rumors of that report. He was tried more outside the courtrooms than in them.

A typical case of a politically motivated popular trial.

Lefter Koka neither invented incinerators nor set fire to the garbage in this country. Incineration was a collective political decision of both parties that governed in 2013-2017.

Waste treatment with PPP was not a decision made by Lefter Koka. Nor was the allocation of budgets and their spending his duty.

At least in Elbasan and Fier, public money for their construction was proven to have been spent correctly, because the inventors are there, not in Lefter's yard.

Meanwhile, the construction of the industrial park in Tirana does not belong to Lefter because he had left the government.

Lefteri simply became a scapegoat who had to be cut off to satisfy the greedy carnivores who dreamed of a lot of money and who turned it into criminal charges.

But beyond that, now that the incinerator trials are almost over, has anyone found out what happened? To what extent were there criminal consequences or not, and how much damage was caused to the state?

Or were the decisions made repealed as illegal?!

I haven't heard anything, you know?!

I only know that people have been tried completely unrelated and for the pleasure of the angry. People have been prosecuted, just for the fun of the Taliban crowd.

Lefter Koka paid an absurd price with his freedom, just to please the angry mobs.

He was even held in detention beyond the legal deadlines for SPAK's good CV.

People, don't let what happened to that man happen to you. You may not agree with him, you may even hate him, but understand him as a human being and respect yourself.
