Prime Minister Edi Rama was in Kavaja this morning with socialist women and girls.
Meanwhile, during his speech, the message arrived that Pope Francis had passed away.
Rama held a minute of silence in the hall.
Rama also recalled the moments of Pope Francis' visit to Albania in September 2014.
Rama also mentioned a meeting in audience with the Pope at the Vatican, when he told him that with his stances, the Pope had created many enemies.
Rama : I'm sorry, a message has come that Pope Francis has passed away. I had a personal relationship with him. He constantly sent me messages with the archbishop and I am extremely sorry, he chose to visit Albania, the first country outside the Vatican when he became Pope. He spent a day in Albania that he himself considered unforgettable. He also said the unforgettable word that Albania does not have religious harmony, but religious brotherhood. I ask for your understanding to honor him with a minute of silence.
I remember the second meeting in the Vatican, I asked him and said: Holy Father, it seems to me that you have made many enemies, saying things that no pope has ever said. The prime minister told me, if I don't say what I have to say now that I have time with the people, when will I say it, who will I tell the worms when I go to the grave.
