Potential voters are emigrating to the opposition
Refugees by boat to Great Britain

On the voter lists in April, there were about 3 million and 600 thousand citizens aged 18 and over. Of these, about 1 million 500 thousand were in emigration. (This is the result of combining the data of INSTAT, the World Bank and the Balkan Barometer, financed by the American NED.)

Out of about 2 million and 100 thousand voters who were not emigrating for years (that is, they were in the homeland), 1 million and 660 thousand participated in the parliamentary elections of April last year - 46.3% of the voters on the lists or about 80% of the voters who were in homeland.

Of the 1,660,000 voters who voted last year, about 60,000 have fled to the other world or to emigration – if we remain faithful to the official mortality and emigration coefficients (published periodically by INSTAT). But if foreign reports about Albanian emigration are also factored in, the number could be up to 160 thousand...

From the reports of local and foreign media, it seems that emigration has taken large proportions mainly in the areas above the Tirana River and up to Has and Tropoja. While there is no way of knowing the political orientation of voters who migrate from those areas, it is known that the opposition parties had their best results there in April.

Thus, in the territory of the Kamëz Municipality (from Babrruja to the Tapiza river), the opposition parties together received 58% of the votes. In the territory of the Kruja Municipality, they received 50.3% of the votes. In the territory of the Kurbin Municipality, they received 68.7 of the votes. In the territory of Lezhë Municipality, they received 57% of the votes. In the territory of Mirdita Municipality, they received 60.7% of the votes. In the territory of Bulqiza Municipality, they received 54% of the votes. In the territory of Klos Municipality, they received 53% of the votes. In the territory of Dibër Municipality, they received 58.6% of the votes. In the territory of Shkodër Municipality, they received 61.2% of the votes. In the territory of Malsi e Madhe Municipality, they received 50.2% of the votes. In the territory of Fushë-Arrëz Municipality, they received 53.6% of the votes. In the territory of Kuka Municipality, they received 61.7% of the votes. In the territory of the Has Municipality, they received 64.2% of the votes. And in the territory of Tropoja Municipality, they received fully 2/3 of the votes.

If the exodus from these territories to Europe and Britain will continue, the electoral superiority that the opposition parties have had in them will shrink...
