Former president Ilir Meta today held the first conference under the leadership of the new Freedom Party, which is actually the LSI with a changed name.
Asked by journalists what ideology his party has, Meta did not give a concrete answer, but said that it is ultra-democratic, and emphasized that the Constitution is comprehensive and is neither left nor right.
"We are not a nationalist party. We are ultra-democratic. I saw that there was a lot of concern about the referendum yesterday. It is the guarantee of the return of democracy in the country. The 1998 constitution was the best that was made, which was made by referendum by the people of Albania. The referendum it is a participation of the people in decision-making. It is the involvement of people in politics. It is not fake like those followers from Bangladesh." said Meta.
When asked if his party will be a competitor of the PD on who will be the first opposition party, Meta said that he is not in competition with Berisha.
"This is not our problem, who will be the first opposition party. You are nothing but the tail of the majority. You are incapable of change. I have no competition, these are inventions of the kleptocracy, with Mr. Berisha. If there will be competition, it will be a daily fight against corruption and state capture. I invite every citizen, friend and partner to bring any information, any denunciation and statement to Ilir Meta and the Freedom Party. Be 100% convinced that they will not the name came out as a source of information. As no one has come up with so far. When the government has decided to cut Albania in half, of course we as the Freedom Party will light the hope, the flame of democracy." said Meta.
