The newest candidate of the Socialist Party in the Fier region seems to be a surprise in these May 11 parliamentary elections, as with preferential votes, with the first 150 ballot boxes that have been counted so far, she is ranked among the most preferred with preferential votes.

But who is Zegjine Çaushi and why has she focused her campaign on the political leader of the Fier district for the Democratic Party, Mr. Gazmend Bardhi? We will get to know her in this first interview, given that she has stayed away from the media during the electoral campaign.

"I chose to use my social networks to respond to Gazmend Bardhi because he was the first person to address me through social networks and I had to give the same response on social networks," she told Top Channel.

– Why did you choose that approach?

He deserves the answer I gave him, he didn't deserve anything more serious.

-What about the accusations he has made against you?

The accusations against me are absolutely not true. I have never been a high-ranking official in the municipality of Roskovec. My company simply made an application to the municipality of Roskovec like all other businesses in the area and became a beneficiary of this subgrant, but there is absolutely no connection, they did not happen during the time I was in office.

-What kind of education did Zegjineja have?

I am 26 years old, I come from a small village called Vloshi in the Jujan unit of the Roskovec municipality, I studied at the Faculty of Law with excellent results, I graduated with a gold medal and I am licensed as a lawyer.

-What do you think of this result, did you have any expectations and do you believe you would be a member of the Albanian parliament?

From the entire campaign that I did on social networks, I received a great deal of support from the citizens of the entire Fier district, they gave me the courage to continue this challenge successfully, and here I am today, topping the list of women in the Fier district.

-How did you start...when you were proposed to be part of the Socialist Party list for the Fier region?

At the beginning I started with a little shyness and I didn't believe that I would achieve the results that I currently have. The key point for me to achieve these results was Gazmend Bardhi. He probably started me to sit down in a way but he simply gave me the strength and perseverance to achieve the results that I have today.

-Have you ever felt the desire to retreat after the attacks you may have received, whether on social media or the comments that may have been made by all those who are unhappy with the way you have chosen to conduct your campaign?

Absolutely not, I took the comments with the utmost sportsmanship, I didn't lose my mind at all, I continued with the strength and perseverance that characterizes me... a
brave girl who faced this campaign in the Feri district.

-You will probably be part of the parliament, at least from the votes so far. What would Zegjinja bring to the Albanian parliament? Will you continue with Gazmend Bardhi?

Not in the Albanian Parliament, Zegjineja will come with a completely different nature, she will come as an excellent lawyer who will do for her country and for the young people of the Roskovec municipality and the entire Fier district.

-Did you have a physical confrontation with Gazmend Bardhi?

Absolutely not, I thought it would come here during the counting process, but with the result it received in the Fier district, not only in the Kzaz of Fier, it has not come alive, and we don't even know where it has disappeared to on social networks.
