The Conference of Speakers has approved the inclusion in the Assembly's work calendar of the request for an urgent interpellation requested by the DP Parliamentary Group with Prime Minister Rama for the scandal of the arrest of the former high official of the FBI in New York, Charles McGonigal.

This issue was requested by the opposition to be discussed in the last session, but it was not accepted by the majority and this brought unrest in the Assembly, where the floor was blocked and the sessions were cancelled.

Meanwhile, in today's meeting, the DP representative in the Conference of Presidents, Flutura Açka, strongly raised concerns about the way the last session was closed, thus avoiding the debate about the McGonigal scandal. She called what happened in the Assembly Parliamentary fascism.

"The fascism of the Parliament is happening. We are neither prosecutors nor inquisitors, but we are mandated to demand accountability and the closing of the session is a violation of the Rules of the Parliament and the Constitution of the Republic", the democratic deputy is said to have said.
