The interpellation of the Minister of Health, Klodiana Spahiu , in the Parliament was accompanied by debates and interruptions from the opposition.

At several moments, the discussions in the hall forced the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Evis Kushi, to intervene to continue the sessions.

In her speech, Spahiu focused on issues related to health services, taking as an example the dialysis service and the way it has been provided over the years.

"This is the first interpellation after I took office. I want to focus on the issues for interpellation. I am taking dialysis as an example: for example, in 2004 the service was very limited and many patients went to North Macedonia. Therefore, building public capacities is of extraordinary importance," the minister declared.

Spahiu also rejected interpretations of a transfer of services from one private operator to another, emphasizing that the goal, according to her, is to guarantee continuity of service for patients.

"After the contract ends, the state takes over the administration of these services. It's not about switching from one operator to another, or slandering women and girls who worked with me in the first 100 hours of work. Taking over public administration is not an end in itself, but rather that the patient does not feel the change as uncertainty. The patient must continue to receive the service, without interruption, and with institutional accountability," she said.

The Minister also spoke about the way services are organized and emphasized that the name change does not imply, according to her, the creation of a new private structure.

"The name change does not mean the creation of a new private institution, but an existing company with 100% state capital, we do not have a transfer of public powers to a private entity," said Spahiu.

She also responded to criticisms about appointments and staff, stating that she will demand that people who work and fulfill their duties remain in the administration.

"Forget that a man, a woman, will be placed in a job position, whoever does not have my rhythm, I will be with you week after week in the interpellation to show that working people should not be boycotted," declared the minister.

Spahiu concluded her speech with a pledge to engage in the healthcare system and set a deadline for achieving one of her objectives.

"The health system is a national asset, the resources of this national asset you politicians have degenerated for your own reasons and the hardworking people you have slandered for your own personal interests will be by my side until the last minute, even if I stay in this position for a week. Every working hour I will be at the service of the citizens. From 8 am to 8 pm I will be there. In 2027, I will either bring the Pet Scan or I will resign. Don't use women's names because you will remain men with scars", said Klodiana Spahiu in the Assembly.
