The leader of the "Albania Becomes" Movement, Adriatik Lapaj, says that it has not yet been decided whether he will retain the mandate he won in the May 11 elections, or whether the path will be opened to the next candidate, Shaban Shkodra. According to him, the decision will be up to the party leadership.

"I stated earlier that a mandate would be a failure for me. Now that we are ranked third, representation is important, but the decision will be made by the leadership," Lapaj said on "Report TV".

He said the result of 64,000 votes was fair, but not up to their expectations. Lapaj criticized the government for irregularities and use of institutions during the campaign, but added that he would not blame the people for the result.

Open to cooperation with any force that represents values, Lapaj emphasized that justice is the red line. Commenting on the clashes with Agron Shehaj, he said that the lack of unity damaged the entire new opposition and that he himself has made continuous efforts for a common front.

"I have persistently sought unity. Instead of an outstretched hand, I received mud, but I do not feel responsible – because I fought hard," he said.
