Sali Berisha stated to journalists today that he has been and is in agreement with investing in Zvërnec.
He said that even three years ago when it was announced that Jared Kushner would invest in our country, he said 'yes' because according to him, the investors had the money.
Berisha: Three years ago, when it was said that the son-in-law of former President Trump would come at that time, I said yes. My reaction to this news was this, I completely agree. Because he has the money. It was said that the Saudi fund is the public investment funds, it is a trillion-dollar fund and of course there was money. The basic reason why I said yes was this and I linked it to money.
With this, I had no doubt that Rama was buying political influence, but again, for me, the country's interest came before this. Investing in Zvërnec is a private affair. As for those who cry about the island, they are hypocrites because both Nano and I have offered Sazan to investors in an absolute way and it is not a simple investment.
"Nothing is destroyed there, my friends, the Wonder of Sazan is this... it is that wonderful vegetation on an island without water. The vegetation will be preserved, so Sazan is public land. Zvërnec is private land in its entirety. It is habitable, okay, now we support foreign investment," Berisha said.
Regarding construction in a protected area, Berisha said that this happens everywhere and that the EU has defined it with criteria. He also said that Thethi and Valbona are constructions in a national park, and that this does not harm but develops the area.
"Construction can be developed in protected areas, the EU has set standards for how the landscape area is developed. It goes through four stages. The doctrine does not exclude it. Then we only have to build on cliffs and streams. But we must develop them in full harmony with the landscape. Thethi and Valbona are both in national parks.
