"It is the moment for the majority to do a deep reflection, in the conditions of this new social and political reality!".
This is what former Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj said in the "Interview" with Merita Haklajn on A2CNN, calling on Prime Minister Edi Rama to show wisdom in the direction of the great political power that the Socialist Party holds.
"You have a political reality where the opposition is very weak, to its misfortune and the misfortune of this country. Even to the detriment of this majority because it does not have a mirror in front of it. It has given him a great power that is impossible to control with a phone or with an individual, whoever he is, however superman he may be. The need to reflect on this responsibility is a very fair thing and the prime minister has done very well. I carefully followed his speech on the 32nd anniversary of the SP and the first one who should reflect is the prime minister himself as he has the responsibility of political leadership to direct this power of this political force and to be able to carry this burden without too much cost gave me. That the burden when the back is weak breaks you in the middle. And what is happening to the opposition could happen to us," he said.
According to Xhafaj, Rama has understood that the majority must continue to be stable in this political environment.
"From the statements made by the prime minister, I understand that he is worried and maybe reflecting. And I want to see them throw serious reflections on the table. In some cases, there is no need to do some make up of the car, but also to completely renew it. I hope he has the wisdom to realize it", he emphasized.
Next, Xhafaj spoke about the internal rivalry in the SP, stressing that it is useful in conditions where it does not turn into a conflict.
"I think that SP will continue to remain a reliable and leading force in this country as long as there is a good harmonization of generations. How long will it take to integrate well the 3 or 4 generations within the political formation. And healthy rivalries and competitions without turning into conflict are healthy. Ambitions are also normal things. Within the SP, there are men and women who deserve to have this ambition", said the former Minister of the Interior.
