National Bureau of Investigation agents conducted a personal search of Erion Veliaj's wife, Ajola Xoxa, on Friday, while the mayor was on an official visit to Hamburg, Germany.

After this search, a mobile phone was seized from the wife of the Mayor of Tirana.

The mayor of Tirana himself stated today that the BKH agents were "without a court order to enter the house" 

This event has also been commented on by lawyer and former Minister of Justice Ylli Manjani, who considers the control exercised by BKH agents against Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj and his wife Ajola Xoxa to be wrong, at a time when there is no court decision.

According to Manjani, there is no wealth investigation against Erion Veliaj, but against his brother.

" I believe that Veliaj is part of a very abusive system with the fundamental rights and freedoms of Albanians. Entering someone's house with a battalion of police to remove them from the house is abusive."

He has contributed with his behavior to this abusive state, but I don't think that an abuse should be fought in an abusive way.

"It wasn't a court decision, it was two fingers of paper, it's a summary decision. Where there is a summary decision in private life, you will give a reason why the other person is going to your house ," said Manjani.
