Debate on the Albanian language, Ahmeti harsh with Mickoski: Don't touch
Ali Ahmeti

From the tents that the European Front has set up in front of the Constitutional Court in Skopje, with the argument of protecting the Albanian language, the leader of the DUI, Ali Ahmeti, spoke to the media, saying that this body of justice must reject the debate about the 13 articles and the attempts to truncate the Albanian language, or else there will be no peace in North Macedonia.

Ahmeti was harsh with the language he used, when he said that he dare not touch the marrow of Albanians, as this is not in anyone's best interest.

"Respect the Ohrid Agreement and do not violate or touch the Albanians' hearts because it is not good for you or for us. This state is common. In these not so good moments for us, something sacred, won with blood over the centuries, is being endangered, our language. I would like to address Hristijan Mickoski from this square: 'We want peace, we want democracy, we want freedom, we want it for everyone, we want our country to be increasingly progressive and as close as possible to the EU, and not to act in institutions to damage a language that is official and emerged from a dialogue process'. We have never contested the language of our fellow citizens or the history of our fellow citizens. Therefore, do not touch the Albanians' hearts because even patience has an end ", said Ahmeti.

According to him, the protest they have undertaken to carry out has nothing to do with Mickoski's claims that the DUI wants to create a fog due to the crimes committed when it was in power.

Ahmeti also expressed strong criticism of the leaders of the ruling Albanian coalition, VALEN, saying that they change positions frequently.

"As for our people who change their positions day by day within a month. Initially, the Albanian language was not official and now it has become official and they have become more courageous. I know how brave they are. They have as much courage as a cat knocking over dishes in the kitchen. That is their courage ," said the head of the DUI.
