Pedagogue and former Democratic MP Mark Marku has analyzed the situation created in the DP after former Prime Minister Sali Berisha took over the leadership of the party.

According to Mark, it is not that Basha violated the democratic standards in the DP, but they have been cultivated since 1992.

"Both sides have their share of guilt. Responsibility must be shared. The problem is beyond, neither the two sides and to unite all the pieces of the DP, the context has been Berisha's proclamation non grata and his removal.

Fear and lack of courage to face these 30-year-old problems, that in order to solve the disease you have to identify it. Then the way you will handle it. In PD they have never wanted and do not want to do in-depth analysis of PD in these 30 years.

I think the DP is late, the problems have erupted. Politics creates the possibility that being in action, you have impossible reflection. It does not create opportunities for you to think. But the DP did not have it as part of the concept it had for politics to dwell on its own problems.

The problem of the leader's arrogance. Okay Basha tended to make his own decisions, but this problem has to do with the leading type party that has been created from '92 onwards. The leader has been the person who has determined who is good, righteous. They said that Berisha would come and set democratic standards, because Basha violated them.

That pattern of behavior there was cultivated. The model of submission, the model of considering criticism as enemies. It is cultivated in time. It has been almost a year since the DP was ready for civil strife. What clash of ideas did we have ?! They are all focused on the person, he does, he does not. Unlike the SP, the government pushes the problems. "And the opposition must fight to come to power," Marku told News 24.

He was also asked about the process of electing the new President of the Republic. Mark Marku says that the way the majority is handling this process, shows a lot about the new name that will be at the head of the Albanian state.

"I think he has selected it, but he is playing this game by passing stage after stage, parliamentary procedure. It is encouraging people to propose names. What does it mean to propose names ?! Open the competition and everyone is running for president. The way he is being elected shows the importance that the new President will have. "No one will take it seriously, or enter into a conflict with the parties," he continued.
