The former chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, who is running again to take the position he held, responded at a distance to the former prime minister Sali Berisha, accusing him of trying by all means to hold PD hostage for his own personal interests.

Basha's reaction comes after former Prime Minister Berisha accuses him of being "Rama's hostage".

" Time is the best medicine. And time brought down the mountain of lies that he raised in front of the Albanians, who seeks at any cost and means to hold PD hostage for his personal interests ", said Basha, through a post on Twitter as he insisted again on the request for the vetting of politicians.

" To put an end to mudslinging, to show who is corrupt and who is not, who is a hostage and who is not, who is connected to crime and who is not, let's vote vetting for politicians. Transparency should start from me and then all these people who have been holding Albania hostage for 32 years, " writes Basha.
