Mevlan Ademi, the leader of the student movement in Skopje, which has been protesting for weeks to hold the bar exam in Albanian, met this Wednesday with US Congressman Keith Self, where concerns regarding the violation of constitutional and legal rights acquired through the Ohrid Agreement were discussed.
According to Ademi, the students expressed opposition to any step that affects equality, dignity and national identity, warning that violating the spirit of coexistence and equality could bring serious consequences for the country's Euro-Atlantic future.
"Our student movement today had the honor of meeting with American Congressman, Keith Self."
During the meeting, we had the opportunity to directly present our concerns regarding the attempts to violate constitutional and legal rights, acquired with much sacrifice over these 20 years through the Ohrid Agreement.
We clearly emphasized that students will not accept backsliding on issues that affect equality, dignity, rights, and our national identity.
"Any attempt to undo the spirit of coexistence and equality would create serious consequences for the country and our common Euro-Atlantic future ," he says.
