The Minister of Agriculture, Frida Krifca published today an order regarding the preservation of carp catch levels. Krifca said that now is the period of carp breeding in the lakes and should not be hunted as this harms this type of fish.

The Minister said that this order comes after a decision of the Council of Ministers to set quotas for fishing in lakes and seas in order to maintain the balance for the presence of fish in Albanian waters.

" The crisis we are living in has affected many sectors, including agriculture. We are facing the increase of prices of agricultural inputs where the part of livestock and agriculture has had problems, but this time the Albanian government has found itself with farmers, with the scheme of oil refund. We have 7300 farmers who have applied, about 3 thousand and have received farmer cards. We are dependent on international prices for inputs. Wheat needs irrigation and we have made investments in irrigation and drainage. We currently meet 90% of the country's milk needs. This figure is never stated. Today it is necessary to face this crisis together. " What we have on the ground, with our structures, is to be careful to look at the planting forecast, " said Krifca.
