The former leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Monka Kryemadhi, has reacted after the arrest of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj.
Kryemadhi ironically mocks Prime Minister Edi Rama, who a few years ago quoted him while talking about a fierce struggle within the Socialist Party. At that time, Rama also made the famous joke that "Veliaj, as part of a hostile group, will hang himself from one of the trees he plants in Tirana."
According to Kryemadhi, Rama's joke turned out to be half the truth. She concludes her reaction by saying that she "did it for" Rama and that it is "his turn" to face justice.
"The joke, no matter how bitter, remains half the truth. But Monika was the first to announce the hurricane of corruption that has invaded the Municipality of Tirana and the government. A hurricane that has taken everyone by surprise today. Edi Rama wanted to make humor with pain, but today his pain is endless because the list of arrests continues. Quote Monika again, because she did it, it's your turn," says Kryemadhi.
