Kryemadhi recalls the establishment of the SMI: 21 years from a sincere

Monika Kryemadhi, through a video montage, recalls the journey of the Socialist Movement for Integration, on the 21st anniversary of its foundation.

With the video, where the founder of this party, Ilir Meta, constantly appears, Kryemadhi wishes the birthday of the SMI. Looking back in time, she says they have won many challenges and battles.

"21 years of a courageous, free and honest initiative. Hundreds and thousands of young men and women believed and contributed to a new and true reality. The countless challenges, the battles won even where we fell, we stood up with dignity. Happy birthday to the SMI", writes Kryemadhi, next to the video published on social networks.

The Socialist Movement for Integration was created on September 6, 2004, with the slogan as 'party of hope, which inspired the younger generations to build a European Albania'.

However, many things have changed since then. In 2022, at the National Convention of this force, it was decided to change the logo and merge all forums: SMI changed its name and was called the Freedom Party.

Meanwhile, the leader of the party was handcuffed in October last year on corruption charges and is in custody. Another change is the relationship between the two most important people in the party, Ilir Meta himself and Monika Kryemadhi, who decided to end the marriage and signed the divorce this year.
