The Electoral College is expected to have the 'last word' on the legal battle over the results of the May 11 parliamentary elections. Today at 10:00, a session will be held to review the DP's appeal, which requested the non-recognition of the results, claiming that the process was accompanied by irregularities and serious legal violations.

The rapporteur of the session will be Lutfije Celami, while the members will be Entela Shedula, Alma Kodraliu, Ornela Naqellari and Enkel Peza. The Democrats spoke out against the decision of the Regulatory Commission on August 28, which put the 'seal' on the May 11 process and certified the elections that declared Edi Rama the winner of 83 mandates.

According to the DP, these violations are documented and confirmed by reports from international monitoring organizations, including the OSCE-ODIHR, as well as by practices collected during the process.

The results of the May 11 elections, which resulted in the Socialist Party winning 83 seats, were accompanied by a lengthy process of appeals by the opposition, delaying the final certification of the results for several months. In some districts, the votes were even recounted, but without any result in favor of the opposition.
