New York Mayor in Tirana/ Rama: He came to meet Minister "Diella".
Edi Rama/ Eric Adams

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a conference with the Mayor of New York, Mr. Eric Adams, outside the government building.

Rama said that efforts are being made to establish a direct flight line with New York.

While describing Adams as a longtime friend, Rama added that he "wants to meet Diella."

Edi Rama : We are here together with a long-time friend, a friend that I had the privilege of knowing thanks to his very strong ties with the Albanian community in New York. After a promise repeated several times, the mayor of New York finally came to Albania to visit our country, to see up close a country that he has heard a lot about from his Albanian friends and from me, as well as to discuss together about tourism.

Having been instrumental in establishing several direct flights from New York to other countries, to see the possibility of an extra boost in the effort we are making to establish direct flights with New York, being interested in technology, he would like to meet with Diella.

Meanwhile, Adams expressed his admiration for the transformation of Tirana and the country as a whole, emphasizing the increase in public lighting, technological development, and the embrace of innovation.

Eric Adams:  Thank you Prime Minister for your friendship and for allowing me to display here what I displayed in New York, the best of the Albanian flag. When you think about this city 25 years ago, you had less than 100 street lights, while 25 years later you see a community and a boom that is moving in the right direction from the lack of street lighting, now having a minister of artificial intelligence, understanding the role that AI will play in the future of the country.

I wanted to come here and learn more about technology, about how this prime minister has been able to take care of the revolution of this country and city. I came to talk about tourism, to see how we can help and use not only the months that I have left in office, but also beyond to secure a direct flight from New York City to Albania.
