In the committee for Legal Affairs, Public Administration and Human Rights, among others, a hearing was held today on the annual activity report of the Commissioner for the Right to Information and the protection of personal data during 2022.

During this session, the democratic MP Saimir Korreshi raised a concern that caused a lot of laughter in the room.

Korreshi square disturbing phones that make different companies that do promotions for mattresses. The democratic deputy, based on his experience, seems to have come to the conclusion that these companies, in addition to the phone number, have access to other demographic data of citizens, such as age, residence and others.

Korreshi asks if mobile companies are responsible for this issue.

"I don't know, did they take you on the phone, they tear up the mattresses on the phone. Even, I died, man of the earth. Do these phone companies bear any responsibility? For the mattresses, they beat us on the phone.

I see that they take for certain categories, for certain age groups, for certain cities. I see that in addition to the phone number, they also have other data."

Despite the gas of the legislators in the hall, commissioner Besnik Dervishi admitted that this is an issue that remains disturbing.

According to him, citizens' personal data is mainly obtained in an abusive manner, as he added that citizens themselves should also be careful, who should be careful when signing contracts, through which they can unknowingly give access to sensitive information.
