Sali Berisha

The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, continued his tour of the podium this Thursday by holding a meeting with citizens in Mirdita.

Berisha considered this second rostrum to be his "rostrum of life."

"I chose Mirdita to open the curtain with the second rostrum, which, I must say here, is the rostrum of my life. It is the rostrum of my life, it is the rostrum for democracy, for the family, for Albania. If in the first rostrum we together, and I will never forget your reception, we saved the Democratic Party, everything was being done for Albania to be without opposition, or more precisely with opposition, everything was being done for the opposition to be the ornament of an enemy of the Albanian nation. And a fierce enemy of the Albanian family, of the Albanian being, who is called Edi Rama. Yes, friends, in history there is no cruel conqueror, there is no dictator, there is no regime that has undone the Albanians, the nation, in ten years as Edi Rama", said Berisha.

Rama has discriminated against the North

During his speech, the leading democrat accused the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama of discriminating against the North in terms of the distribution of investments.

"But the absolute discrimination that Edi Rama has made to Mirdita and the north as a whole has never been done by anyone. 5 days ago I was watching a show. Journalists were showing with documents that, like the mayor of Tepelena, the famous Tërmet Peçi, his sister and he had benefited from 60 million euros in tenders. I guarantee you that all the municipalities of the north taken together in 4 years have not received 60 million in investments from the government. A discrimination, an omission, of the north which in general production gives hundreds of millions of euros, while in distribution you see for yourself. Time stopped, without investments in Mirdita, in Shkodra, in Kukës, Tropoja, Peshkopi. The Arbri Road continued for 14 years, and a total of 27 kilometers. 32 were completed. So only Tërmet's sister had received 60 or so million euros in tenders from his brother, or his circle. This is Edi Rama for the people of Mirdita, this is Edi Rama "for the inhabitants of the north. An enemy, an enemy in the genes. Why do I say in the genes, because Enver Hoxha had the north in a red circle. He considered it an enemy zone," Berisha said.

He noted that over the last ten years, Albania has faced a significant demographic contraction, emphasizing that the current population is similar to that of 100 years ago, around 700 thousand people.

"In ten years, we have been undone more than ever in our existence. Today we have that additional population that we had when we were a total of 700 thousand people, 100 years ago. Today Mirdita and Albania have the lowest birth rate in the world due to emigration ," Berisha stressed.
