A day after the voting amid tensions of the commanding mayor of the Municipality of Himara, Blerina Bala, the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, stopped in the municipality of Himara. In the footage published by him on social networks, Meta appears in the company of Timoleo Gërdhuqi, municipal councilor of the Freedom Party in Himarë.

"In Porto Palermo with Timo Trim, our chief councilor in the Municipality of Himara, where today the water was colder than ice, but only in the beginning and then it doesn't go away", writes Meta alongside the published video.

Gerdhuqi was one of the six members of the opposition in the municipal council who voted for the deputy mayor of the municipality, Blerina Bala, who, after securing the necessary quorum of votes, was in charge of Himara until the new local elections.

The candidate of the coalition of Ilir Meta and Sali Berisha in the local elections of May 14, Fredi Beleri from the prison cells, where he has been staying since May 12 as a suspect for electoral corruption, described the process followed in Himare as a created legal tangle intentionally as he asked to be allowed to take his oath as mayor. Earlier, Beleri requested that in the event of the necessity of commanding a mayor, he would be one of the advisors of the coalition 'Bashke Fitomje', which was not considered as it is not provided for by the law on local government.

One day after the developments in Himarë, the public stance of Ilir Meta, one of the chairmen of the coalition's election committees that had Beler as its candidate, is with the Freedom Party municipal councilor, who voted for Blerina Balë as elected chairperson.
