Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, has participated today in the homage to former President Bujar Nishani, who passed away a few days ago in a hospital in Germany.

During his speech, Berisha, in tears with great pain, expressed his condolences to his family and all Albanians for this great loss.

He said that Bujar Nishani, in addition to being a valuable collaborator, was also a close friend of his, adding that although he left this life, the former president is spiritually alive.

" It simply came to our notice then. To share with Odette, Ers and Fiona the mourning of this great calamity that has befallen them. To their friends, relatives, but also to all Albanian citizens who have seen Bujar Nishani as an exemplary citizen, family, an excellent parent, a husband and a noble father. The Albanian state, one of the most dignified statesmen in its entire history, the Albanian society and the Albanians, one of their most dedicated servants.

Bujar Nishani for decades has been one of the most valuable collaborators with whom I was born not only close cooperation but also a perfect friendship, a friendship that never happens even in the form of say decline, on the contrary. Memories of Bujar Nishani are numerous and he is not physically among us today, but the truth is that spiritually he is alive.

He is eternally alive in my memory and all those who had the great fortune to know him as a friend, to know him as a collaborator. Therefore, sharing today pain and mourning in the Nishani family and friends, I express my condolences to them, my condolences to the Albanians who lost today the former head of state who gave great dignity to the institution of the Presidency, but also to all citizens. "Unforgettable, eternal will remain his memory ", said Berisha.
