Two days of homage, the body of Bujar Nishani arrives in Albania
Border police honor the former President

The dead body of former President Bujar Nishani arrived in the homeland last night. The former President's coffin car crossed the Morina border crossing where in an improvised ceremony the border police forces honored Bujar Nishani.

Accompanied by police, the car carrying the casket left for Tirana. His coffin will be placed in the "Skanderbeg" hall in the Presidency, where family members will receive visits and homage from relatives, friends and well-wishers.

The homage will take place for two days in a row.

The state protocol will take them to the Presidency from 10:00 to 12:00 on Thursday, to be forwarded to the last apartment in the Sharra cemetery.

After 12:00, the coffin with the body of the former President, accompanied by the funeral procession, goes on foot to the bridge that crosses the ring with the boulevard Dëshmorët e Kombit, to then head towards the Sharra cemetery, where it will take place mortuary ceremony with farewell speeches.

Bujar Nishani died while being treated at the Charite University Hospital in Berlin, one of the most famous hospitals in Germany, but his health deteriorated due to severe pulmonary insufficiency, which led to his death on Saturday.
