INTERVIEW/ Fredi Beleri on TopNews: Rama broke the Bushati-Kotzias agreement,
Moderator Xhoi Malësia/ MEP, Fredi Beleri

MEP Fredi Beleri gave an interview for Breaking on TopNews with journalist Xhoi Malësia , where he spoke about Albanian justice, relations with Greece, the trial in Strasbourg and Rama's friendship with Turkish President Erdogan.

Beleri recounted how the European Court of Human Rights once again questioned the decision of the Albanian courts to sentence him, who spent nine months and twenty-two days in detention, and was released on parole on September 2, 2024.

Fredi Beleri was accused of the criminal offense of active corruption in elections.

"Strasbourg admitted in principle that my arrest was irregular. Justice in Albania does not function or is rigged. I will go to the end of this battle, I will not make a deal with the Albanian government," Beleri said on Breaking.

The MEP focused on the properties of Himara and the patriotism that is being talked about in the media. According to him, this is not the time for patriotism, but for democracy and the implementation of the law.

Beler i: The Albanian government was stealing property, in the Municipality of Himara there is no electricity and water. If tomorrow there is a Greek-Albanian war, even if it is far away, we will see who each one protects and whom? In a democracy we see how citizens are measured by paying taxes and respecting the laws. Therefore, it is not a time of war to talk about patriotism, I have not campaigned for Hellenization.

Beleri also focused on the Albania-Greece relationship, stating that Rama broke the Bushati-Kotzias agreement because of Erdogan.

"Rama broke the Bushati-Kotzias agreement. Mr. Ditmir Bushati himself said this, saying that we were very close to an agreement in interviews with Greek newspapers. He chose to have a political father, Erdogan, a dictator who has imprisoned half of the opposition in Turkey," said Beleri.

We recall that MEP Fredi Beleri has complained to the Strasbourg Court that his initial detention was not based on relevant and sufficient reasons and that the authorities did not consider alternative measures before ordering his detention in prison./ VoxNews
