The Complaints and Sanctions Commission rejected the request made by the Democratic Party for the de-registration of the candidate of the Socialist Party for the Municipality of Mallakastra, Qerim Ismailaj.
The latter was sentenced to 6 months in prison in February of this year by the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime, found guilty of falsifying documents, because he had hidden in the decriminalization form a 3-year sentence in Greece for acts of violence .
PD claimed that Ismailaj was subject to the decriminalization law, but their request, after being rejected by the CEC, was already rejected by KAS. After this decision, Ismailaj will continue the race for the head of the Municipality of Mallakstra, where he seeks a second term as its head.
