The CEC postpones the draw for the ranking of candidates for mayors

The Central Election Commission has decided to postpone the draw for determining the ranking of the candidates for mayor on the ballot. At today's meeting of the CEC, Celibashi stated that the postponement of the draw came at the request of the SP. 

According to him, after the request of the SP, for 3 candidates, the completion of the examination of the appeals in KAS and the College should be awaited. The lot will be drawn after considering the appeals made as subjects of decriminalization for the candidates: Rezeart Tusha in Shijak, Qerim Ismailaj Mallakaster, Kreshnik Hajdari in Kuçovo.

"In today's session, we have the development of the procedures for drawing lots for the ranking of some candidates for mayors in some municipalities, but we will postpone it because we received a request from an electoral subject, which requires the drawing of lots, in advance , for the electoral subjects and then for the candidates for mayors. Even for the latter, it should be done for all at the same time. Since we are still in the appeals review procedure for 3 candidates, we will have to wait for the conclusion of the appeals review in KAS and in the Electoral College," said Celibashi.

But Celibashi has not yet given a date when the next lottery will be held to determine the ranking of candidates for the municipalities of Tirana, Kamëz, Lushnjë, Durrës, Elbasan, Berat, Fier, Vlorë, Korce, Lezhë, Shkodër.
